I am an Addict ] 7/29/05 On 17th Street, a few people saw my banners, stopped and told me I needed to go to the "Triangle Club above the Cleaners on P Street". Before this week, I thought that CMA stood for Country Music Awards. Now I know that CMA is Crystal Meth Anonymous. I never imagined in a million years that I would go support group for drug use. While there on 17th street, I made a committment to myself to go to a meeting Friday night at 8:30. I did. I went. I met people. And I sat through my very first "meeting meeting". Dude. On Thursday, I felt like I was the only one in the world who wanted help. On Friday night, there were almost 50 people there. There were hugs. There were kisses. There was applause. There was a comraderie that I never knew existed. I will be back, at least every Friday. More often if I am able to make the trip up to D.C.. Thank you, people on the street, for telling me about this resource and encouraging me to go. The Triangle Club is located at 2030 P Street NW, between Dupont Circle and Apex, on the south side of the street, with CMA meetings Monday Wednesday and Friday at 8:30 pm. Back
